Known as the China Town of Ho Chi Minh City, for the very reason that District 5 has the most Chinese Vietnamese living there. Very unlike District 1, District 5 is more ancient and oriental in its architecture with very few modern and high-rise buildings. There are more pagodas and temples in District 5 than other districts of Ho Chi Minh City.
Chinese food sold in District 5 is the most authentic in all of Saigon and brings visitors from over the city to experience it.
Public transport links are convenient to travel back and forth between District 1 and District 5 as you can take the bus No. 1 at Cho Lon Bus Station to get to Ben Thanh Market in just 45 minutes.
